...and now what? |
2004-12-02 - 7:15 p.m. overheard, and inhaled, at work Wow... can I just say how much I love the moments at work when the air conditioning comes on? Yes, I know it's December and it's in the 40s outside. So I don't know what makes the air kick on, because it's not like it's that hot inside. But I know I'll be sitting at my little cubespace, and suddenly it's like ah... air. Cool air. I actually tilt my head back sometimes so that my nose is pointed at the vent (so it's 15 feet above my head, so what) and breathe it in while it lasts. How bad is it that the waft of cool air makes me suddenly notice how stuffy the place was, and how stopped up and not-breathing-well I was? Then suddenly... air. Yay, air! Maybe that's the deal with that chick in the commercial who jumps up from her cube and squeals, "Air?? I love air!!!! Don't even get me started!" Mmmm. Air. All oxygenated and stuff. strange partial conversations overheard today: "I'm not a very hairy person." "When you can see another man's toenails, that's wrong." |
